I now extend that criticism to the survey.&nbsp; If you limit my response to 999 characters, why not tell me?&nbsp; Then I won\u2019t prepare a response that\u2019s 302% larger than you will allow!<\/p>\n<p>NOTE \u2013 there were two other text boxes, both limited the number of characters to other, smaller, and random quantities, both with no indication of what the limit would be.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.paulbegley.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/image.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"495\" height=\"125\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.paulbegley.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/image_thumb.png?resize=495%2C125&#038;ssl=1\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is my full response about why I unsubscribed from DirecTV Now:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">DirecTV Now was a horrific<br \/>\n experience.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>From the user<br \/>\ninterface to buffering issues to the user interface (did I already say that,<br \/>\nyes, it&#8217;s that bad) to the content.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>No type of DVR solution, &#8216;subscribing&#8217; to channels was OK, but<br \/>\nnon-intuitive to use.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">No CBS channel.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>At all.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Yes, I know you<br \/>\nhave to negotiate with CBS, but it&#8217;s a gaping hole.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I added HBO and got two HBO channels added, which was underwhelming.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Even at $35\/month rate it wasn&#8217;t worth<br \/>\nthe money.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>We watched ONE movie<br \/>\n(Deadpool) and the last 20 minutes of the film took almost an hour to watch due<br \/>\nto buffering issues.<\/font><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp; <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Just so you don&#8217;t assume I have a poor Internet<br \/>\nconnection, I have 200\/10 Mbps (up\/downlink speeds) and a commercial grade<br \/>\nfirewall and wireless AP (Meraki).<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Chemical engineer by degree, working in IT and connected to the Internet<br \/>\nsince 1986 (not a typo), Cisco and other certifications.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Let&#8217;s just assume the problem is on your end and not my home<br \/>\nnetwork&#8230;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Streaming from a laptop to a Chromecast was<br \/>\nUSELESS.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I stream other content<br \/>\n(YouTube, other) to Chromecast with no issues using the exact same configuration<br \/>\n(laptop, wireless channel, etc).<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Streaming from my PHONE (!!!) worked better than the laptop, and I can&#8217;t<br \/>\naccount for that.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Is the Android<br \/>\napp that much more efficient than streaming from a browser on a<br \/>\nlaptop?<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">No Roku support out of the gate.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Roku and beer are gifts from GOD, and you don&#8217;t support the Roku.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Seriously?<\/font><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp; <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">I took advantage of the free Amazon Fire offer because,<br \/>\nas noted, you don&#8217;t support the Roku (aka, Gift From God).<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Nice device, but DirecTV sucks at life, so we were &#8216;less than pleased&#8217;<br \/>\nwith the experience.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp;<\/span>We attempted<br \/>\nto watch Deadpool (previous reference) using the Amazon Fire.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Other services worked fine, but not DirecTV Now.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">And, the user interface sucks.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>As an example, I saved &#8216;favorite&#8217; channels in the guide and selected<br \/>\nFavorites to display.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp;<\/span>It&#8217;s all too<br \/>\neasy to suddenly have every channel displayed.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Next, I can&#8217;t seem to pause, continue,<br \/>\nand skip over content (like my DirecTV DVR).<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp;<\/span>Yes, I realize there are device<br \/>\nconstraints (but, shall I note, not on the Roku), but you&#8217;re not even<br \/>\ntrying.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp;<\/span>Did you pull one of those<br \/>\n&#8220;Design this for free and I&#8217;ll give you great recommendations&#8221; with the<br \/>\ninterface design team?<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Because it<br \/>\nLOOKS like that&#8217;s what you did.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">I&#8217;m doing this all from memory.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>It&#8217;s like a nightmare where I can still see the screen doing something I<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t want\/like, oh, and the BUFFERING, Oh, the BUFFERING!!!<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">To summarize:<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; User interface sucks<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; No DVR capability<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; No Roku support<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; Buffering issues (with long shows?<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>You tell me)<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; No CBS content<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; Poor performance with Amazon Fire<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; Poor performance with Chromecast <\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">= DirecTV Now Sucks at life<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: normal; -ms-word-break: normal;\"><font style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">That&#8217;s the short version of why I unsubscribed from<br \/>\nDirecTV Now.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I&#8217;m working furiously<br \/>\nto experiment with OTA TV, a local DVR, and cloud based services.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I&#8217;m willing to bet anything I put together will be a better, more<br \/>\nsatisfying experience than DirecTV Now.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;
